Welcome to Sussex Writes: creative writing workshop

In this creative writing workshop with Sussex Writes participants found out about its work with local schools, and explored their own creative impulses.

Sussex Writes is a transformative student-led creative writing programme helping young people across Sussex and beyond to become more creative and confident. Working with the School of English, Widening Participation, and local schools and organisations including The Youth Cafe and the Guides, we are making a significant contribution to Sussex’s impact on the local and international community, including providing online learning materials during lockdown.

Speakers include: Dr Emma Newport (Sussex Sustainability Research Programme Fellow, Lecturer in English and Director of Sussex Writes), Dr Tom Bamford-Blake (Lecturer in American Literature and American Studies, Assistant Director of Sussex Writes), Abbie O’Connell (Assistant Programme Co-ordinator, Sussex Writes), Ellie Evans (Social media editor, Sussex Writes), Chloe Barker, Mia Blake, Shannon Goss, Adam Laidlow, Katie Webb (Sussex Writes student tutors).
